About the Event

Join us Wednesday night, October 14th, for a virtual meeting with Dr. Marc Jenkins, Director, Center for Immunology, UMN Medical School. Dr. Jenkins and a team of researchers at the UMN have been working on a new antibody test to detect immunity from the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Dr. Jenkins' presentation, SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies and Vaccines, will last approximately 30 minutes, followed by Q&A. It's free!

Abstract: This presentation will focus on how people make antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 infection or vaccines, how those antibodies are measured, and how antibodies re-infection. Dr. Jenkins will also discuss the research currently being done in his group at the UMN.

Speaker bio: Dr. Jenkins is recognized as one of the world’s most distinguished immunologists. He currently serves as Director at the Center for Immunology, UMN Medical School. Jenkins is also a Regents and Distinguished McKnight University Professor at the UMN and recently was named to the National Academy of Sciences. He has been recognized for his role in the medical school’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic through the development of antibody testing now in clinical use.
